MATCHED/DOSE
curtis emery / Ceremonial Abyss split c35
Back-to-back acute, crystalline structures recalling the glimmering latticework of early Keith Fullerton Whitman, Harold Budd, and kosmiche/Berlin School joints -- these two pieces act foils for each other, the field and the cloud over the field; the meadow before and its after-blasted landscape; the vowel to its consonant. Plenty of room to move, warm up, and expand in just over a half hour's time, plus perhaps the ten minutes in between sides to brew a bit of strong mint tea and begin to merge your circadian warbling with the vibrations that map out this tape. 35 minutes from two artists firing in flow state: for fans of rhubarb growing in candlelit dark, Phil Jeck, Harmonia, Belong, weighted blankets, Milan Knižák. She's not a girl who misses much...
